4th Annual Kenora Borealis Triathlon and Duathlon

The 4th Annual Kenora Borealis Triathlon & Duathlon promises to be one of Kenora’s premier summer events! Swim, bike and run or run, bike and run along a scenic and challenging course. Compete, volunteer or come cheer on the competitors!

Our race has quickly become one of Manitoba’s and Northwestern Ontario’s signature triathlon and duathlon events. It offers the potential of perfect swim conditions, a fast and picturesque run and a bike course that will leave you talking for weeks. It has to be experienced to be believed.

There are olympic and sprint distances as well as a Tri-A-Tri event for beginner athetes who are looking for a challenge and would like to give triathlon a try. Relay teams are encouraged. The events are as follows:

Sprint Triathlon 750m Swim 20 km Bike 5 km Run
Olympic Triathlon 1500m Swim 40 km Bike 10 km Run
Sprint Duathlon 2.5 km Run 20 km Bike 5 km Run
Olympic Duathlon 5 km Run 40 km Bike 10 km Run
Try-A-Tri 300m Swim 10 km Bike 3 km Run

The Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Duathlon, and Olympic Duathlon events are Canadian Qualifiers for the 2009 World Triathlon Championships and the 2009 World Duathlon Championships.

A catered awards banquet on the Harbourfront will follow the races.

Harbourtown BIZ and Tourism Kenora invite everyone to take part in a downtown Scavenger Hunt!

Solve the riddles to get from location to location and learn all about Kenora on this fun filled activity.

Sign-up at the Tourism Kiosk located in Memorial Park (next to the LOW Museum) at 1:00 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded!!! There is no cost to take part.
